Candy Machine v3 is Here 🍬

This week, the Metaplex Foundation of Candy Machine v3.

comes loaded with new features to further expand the use and functionality of everyone’s favorite minting and distribution program for fair NFT collection launches on Solana.

One significant addition is the Candy Guard program. Candy Guard allows users to customize the mint process of their Candy Machines. We heard that some users of Candy Machine v2 felt limited in what they could achieve. This new design greatly reduces the incentive for developers to fork our core Candy Machine program, which was previously a method some developers used to add new features. This means more flexibility without sacrificing the stability of Candy Machine.

Users can create custom Candy Guards to better suit their needs and project functionality. When using custom Guards, builders and creators have more control over what they build and the ability to cherry-pick the features that matter most to them.
